The purpose of buying this Hard Drive was to upscale my ps3 from 60gb. I was running out of space since every games takes a chunk of space. For example Oblivion, MGS4, DMC4, they all take more that 3Gb each of space.

Onto other issues:
Changing the hard drive of the ps3 does not void the warranty.
I have heard that you can use a hard drive bigger than 250gb.
Changing the hard drive was hard, very hard, so hard I screwed my old 60gb one.

It's been more than 6 months with this HDD and it works wonders. I don't hear it since the fan is louder.
So far, my library of games keeps growing and growing. This has been the perfect buy for my ps3.
